State 38 Distilling Joins Forces to Release Limited Edition 100% Colorado Wheat Whiskey

(Golden, CO) May 2023 – State 38 Distilling is so excited to join forces with seven premier Colorado Distilleries to release a limited edition 100% Colorado Wheat Whiskey this month. The Colorado Distillers Collaboration Straight Wheat Whiskey is five years in the making. This Whiskey is being released by State 38 Distilling, 291 Colorado Whiskey, Bear Creek Distillery, Laws Whiskey House, Old Elk Distilleries, Wood’s High Mountain Distillery and Woody Creek Distillers. This collaboration is a product of the group’s long-standing relationships in an effort to highlight the unity and camaraderie among Colorado’s distilling community and create a one-of-a-kind Colorado wheat whiskey that we can’t wait to share with you.

This project started five years ago when all seven distilleries agreed that this wheat whiskey would be a combination from these seven groups only, each distillery would use the same Centennial Wheat grown and supplied by Colorado Malting Company, and that 100% of the proceeds from sales would be donated to Colorado nonprofits. In the spring of 2018 each distillery distilled their own 100% Centennial Wheat whiskey grown by the Cody family in Colorado’s San Luis Valley. Each barrel was then transferred, married, and barreled together by Laws Whiskey House in Denver. This wheat whiskey has aged for more than four years and we are so excited to release it to the public.

It is common to see breweries doing collaborations with other local breweries, even with distilleries, however you typically do not see distilleries doing collaborative projects with other local distilleries. This is the first time in Colorado history that a group of distilleries who all make their whiskey from grain to glass has come together to produce a common blended product that we can share with our local community, raise awareness of our brands, but also raise money for our local charities.

State 38 Distilling is very excited to partner with Bridge of Hope Greater Denver as their charity of choice. Each distillery got to select a local charity and all nonprofits are focused on Colorado and its local communities. Bridge of Hope Greater Denver aims to help end homelessness for single mothers and their children living in the Denver metro area. They provide rental assistance, life skills to increase income, build careers, pursue education, manage a budget, and pay off debt. Each mother is also paired with a team of volunteers to provide friendship, support, and a community.

The Colorado Distillers Collaboration Straight Wheat Whiskey will be available at the State 38 Distilling tasting room beginning May 19, 2023. Each distillery has just 105 bottles available for $75. Visit the tasting room and purchase a bottle of this unique wheat whiskey and taste the soft and floral flavor with bright fruit notes and generous barrel aromas of vanilla, caramel, bergamot, and black tea! We look forward to seeing you soon and join us in supporting this great distiller’s collaboration and giving back to Bridge of Hope Greater Denver.
