State 38 Distilling Toasts Colorado Day
Limited-edition whiskey features artwork by Jesse Crock on beautiful bottle label
(Golden, CO) July 7, 2022 - Golden-based State 38 Distilling, named after Colorado - the 38th state, will launch its second annual Colorado Day whiskey, a barrel-proof straight wheat whiskey made with local grains and Rocky Mountain water. The limited edition bottle label was designed by Golden-based artist Jesse Crock, known for his vibrant and picturesque Colorado landscapes.
“State 38 Distilling has always been extremely proud of the state they live in, and we want the distillery to honor everything that makes Colorado great,” said Don Hammond, State 38 owner and managing partner. “Colorado Day is a natural fit for our distillery and Jesse has long been a friend and partner with us.”
The distillery will release the whiskey during a special tasting room event with Crock on Friday, July 29th from 3 -7 pm and Saturday, July 30th from 4 - 7 p.m. Crock (ww.jessecrockart.com) will be at the distillery (located at 400 Corporate Cir STE B in Golden, CO) signing the limited edition bottles and posters. T-shirts and stickers will be for sale in addition to bottles and prints.
The Colorado Day Straight Wheat Whiskey will be available for sale at the distillery for $85 a bottle. This second Colorado Day release label will feature a colorful mountain range often seen throughout Colorado. August 1st marks the 146th Colorado Day, the first being in 1876 when President Ulysses S. Grant signed a proclamation admitting Colorado as a state.
2022 Colorado Day Straight Wheat Whiskey Tasting Notes
Color: Beautiful dark amber.
Nose: White peppercorn, toffee, brown sugar caramel, with a touch of Grandma's cedar chest.
Front: Sweet tobacco, dark chocolate cherry, and caramel cream.
Finish: Toasted cinnamon, pepper, vanilla spice with a slight note of dry spearmint.
