Small and Mini Christmas Trees
An Alternative Christmas Tree
The Christmas tree is traditionally the center piece in any holiday décor scheme. Large homes with high ceilings look best with a dominating Christmas tree starting at 6 feet tall. In some cases, you may want to put a Christmas tree in every major room in a mansion. For the typical home, just one will do and if you have a modest home that can’t free up some space for a tall Christmas tree during the holidays, no need to fret. You can still celebrate the season with a small and mini Christmas tree you can put on your coffee table or on a shelf.
When to Use Them
Small condos and apartments often can’t accommodate your traditional floor standing Christmas trees. In today’s homes, real estate space carries a premium. Some of the things we do traditionally can’t always be observed. Like setting up the largest Christmas tree we used to delight at. Not anymore. With constrained space, you can still celebrate the joyous festivities and mark the season with a smaller versions of Christmas tree we’ve known as kids.
And if you want to decorate your small office cubicle to remind you of the festive holiday ambiance, a floorstander just won’t do. Here is where those small and mini Christmas trees can brighten up your office in a practical space-saving manner. Because you probably will be spending more time in the office this holiday season, putting one on your table can bring the festive cheer as you work you way through the holidays.
They are also great gift ideas. Just like any flower bouquet, you can have small Christmas trees custom decorated and delivered to your family or friends as well as office colleagues and business associates.
What to look for
Just like traditional pine trees we use for Christmas, those small and mini Christmas trees can be either natural or artificial. A lot of them are packaged with the busy housewife or executive in mind and they often come pre-lit or pre-decorated with all the ribbons and trimmings you expect but on a smaller scale. Miniature Christmas trees might not be big enough to accommodate the standard trimmings you use with traditional floor standing ones.
But they lend themselves as a challenge to your creative mettle. There are skillfully trimmed bonsai ornamental plants cut like miniature pine trees that make excellent Christmas décor on your mantle piece or office table. There are even specially made artificial Christmas trees that have plastic straws lighted on their edges to looks like miniature bulbs using laser light principles. Whichever route you take, a Christmas tree will always be there to remind you of the holidays.
